I am about to become a Useless Consumer. Over the next 12 weeks, I am setting out to take 2 steps every week to reduce my consumption, and blog about how I'm dealing with it all. I'll cut back on my electricity use. I'll somehow break the habit of creating so much waste. I'll even stop spending gobs of money on eating out each week (really, it is shameful the amount I spend).
Not only am I going to use less of the world around me, but I'm also going to become useless to the corporations, as I plan to block out all the "buy buy buy" messages they cram down my throat. Indeed, I'll transform into a Useless Consumer.
I don't know how this will turn out. Perhaps I'll bitch and moan (likely). Perhaps I'll find the true happiness in life (who knows?).
In any case, stay tuned, and see how this all turns out...
